Wheating Fourth Fastest 1,500-Meter Runner In U.S. History.
Former University of Oregon track star Andrew Wheating became Thursday the fourth fastest 1,500-meter runner in U.S. history. He posted a time of 3:30.90.
Wheating finished just fourth at the Diamond League Meet in Monaco. The race turned out the five fastest 1,500-meter times in the world this season. The winner, Silas Kiplagat of Kenya, finished more than a second before Wheating.
Wheating is pleased with his time. But he says he could’ve done better.
Andrew Wheating: "I ran well. I did everything I wanted to. I ran fast. But at the end of the day, you know, I still lost. So it’s kinda bittersweet to a certain degree."
Wheating beat his previous 1,500-meter time by more than six seconds.
