The Vancouver City Council will vote Monday on what alternative they prefer for the Columbia River Crossing Project.  Pete Springer reports.

Last week, the public had a chance to tell the Vancouver City Council how they feel about a project to replace the Interstate Bridge between Portland and Vancouver.

Monday the seven members of the council will tell the public what they've decided on.

Colleen Kawahara is a spokeswoman for the city of Vancouver.

Colleen Kawahara: “They’re going to be discussing the type of bridge, whether it’s a replacement or supplemental bridge, the type of mass transit -- if there is going to be mass transit, and then where lightrail -- if lightrail is selected -- is going to begin and end in Vancouver.” The Vancouver City Council is one of six public entities voting on this project.

C-Tran, Tri-Met, the Portland City Council, and the Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council will all hold similar votes later this week.

The Metro council will vote next week.
