As part of The Switch , our series on energy, we’re talking with experts about big ideas and innovative thinking for finding and harnessing energy. 

When we think of geothermal energy, we think of places where it’s abundant, like Iceland or volcanic regions of the West.  But there are hot rocks everywhere. 

We just sometimes have to drill deeper to find them. 

Here to talk a little more about deep heat mining is David Blackwell.  He teaches Geothermal Studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
