U.S. Victory Wraps Up Portland Davis Cup
Portland, OR December 3, 2007 10:26 a.m.
In Portland this weekend, it was tough to miss the fanfare around Memorial Coliseum, where the 2007 Davis Cup drew tennis stars and fans from all over the world. The US team brought home a victory -- its first in twelve years. There was glam to spare, with a pair of chest-bumping twin brothers clinching the win.
Another famous brother had a role in this, as coach for the Americans, Patrick McEnroe. Very likely you've heard of his older sibling, John. .
Jon Wertheim, who's a Portland native, covered the Davis Cup for Sports Illustrated. We managed to catch him on his way out of town Sunday.
