UO Quarterback And A Former Player Face Burglary Charge

One former and two current University of Oregon football players will appear in court this Friday. KLCC's Angela Kellner has more.Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli faces a burglary charge in connection with a theft at a campus fraternity house in late January.The Lane Country District Attorney's Office says Masoli and former Oregon receiver Garrett Embry have each been charged with one count of burglary. A fraternity member reported that Masoli and Embry stole two computers and a guitar from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house. Masoli and Embry will be arraigned in Lane County Circuit Court this Friday.Also on Friday, Oregon running back LaMichael James will appear at the same court at a change-of plea hearing. James previously pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of menacing, strangulation and assault. A woman who says she is James' girlfriend claims he grabbed her neck and pushed her to the ground during a February argument. Head football coach Chip Kelly issued a statement saying he is carefully considering the latest news regarding Masoli and James. Kelly said he will make a decision regarding disciplinary action Friday. I'm Angela Kellner in Eugene.
