Univ. Of Oregon To End Undergraduate Programs In Bend
The University of Oregon is addressing an identity crisis in Central Oregon.
The state's Board of Higher Education recommended that U of O abandon its undergraduate endeavors in Bend.
Students have been able to study through Central Oregon Community College and enroll in U of O for upper division courses. This mirrored the program at Oregon State's OSU-Cascades branch.
Christine Coffin is the communications director for the OSU-Cascades Campus.
Christine Coffin: "With the programs with two schools being offered here, our branding was not very clear and we were a little confusing to the central Oregon community."
Current University of Oregon students in Bend will be able to complete their degrees at U of O during the transition. New students will be able to get the same degrees through OSU in the future.
