Umpqua Dairy Products of Roseburg has joined a list of ninety other companies recalling ice cream products in a nationwide salmonella outbreak that has sickened hundreds of people.  Pete Springer reports.

There are hundreds of food products on the Food and Drug Administration's recall website.

And the list grows daily.

More than a dozen products were just added, including certain Umpqua ice cream products. 

Dr. Stephen Sundlof is with the FDA.  His advice for consumers is simple.

Stephen Sundlof: “Well a lot of people are asking me lately, ‘What’s safe to eat and what isn’t safe to eat?’  If you don’t know the source of the food that contains peanuts, don’t eat it.  Just don’t eat it until you can find out better information.”

Eleven people in Oregon have fallen sick since the  salmonella outbreak began. 

The source of the outbreak has been identified as food products containing peanut butter, peanut paste, and peanuts from a Peanut Corporation of America processing facility in Georgia. 

The list of recalled products includes cookies, crackers, brownies, candies, snack bars and even pet food products.
