Twenty Years Later, Coast Trail Advocate Starts Hike Again
Twenty years ago today, Al LePage set out to hike the Oregon Coast trail.
He covered 400 miles in 30 days, and now he's back at the coast to do it again.
He called me Monday afternoon from the North Oregon Coast where he says the weather's great for the opening day of what he's called his "legacy hike".
Al LePage is the director of the National Coast Trail Association. He just started retracing his steps of twenty years ago along the Oregon Coast Trail.
You can follow his itinerary, and look up dates when he'll be meeting with the public along the way at coasttrails.org.
