A Tiny Dance On A Tiny Stage
Imagine trying to dance on something the size of a restaurant table for four.
That’s the challenge Portland-based choreographer Mike Barber takes up Saturday night, with his partner Cydney Wilkes.
Their "Tiny Dance" is part of Ten Tiny Dances at Portland Institute for Contemporary Art's Time-Based Art Festival
The pair dance on a wooden stage, about two feet off the ground.
OPB’s Oregon Art Beat caught up with Barber and Wilkes at rehearsal. The dancers mapped out a routine that includes two-dozen trophies, and collaborated on music with composer Heather Perkins.
Art Beat producer Katrina Sarson listened in, and filed this audio post card.
