Times Are Tough For Oregon Dairy Farmers
You can make fun of Oregon’s “Dairy Air” all you want, but the sad truth is business is rough for the state’s dairy farmers.
Prices for milk are at historic lows, and have been for about a year now. Some farmers are having to shutter their operations.
Sixteen dairy farms closed in the first nine months of this year, according to the Statesman-Journal newspaper.
Adrianne Jeffries wrote about this for the latest issue of Oregon Business Magazine, and she joins me now.
