Tea Party Activists Gather In Southern Washington
Tea Party activists rallied in southern Washington over the weekend.
As OPB's David Nogueras reports they gathered just north of the Dalles to voice their frustration with big government.
Members of the Gorge Constitutional Tea Party Tea Partiers didn't pull any punches when it came to voicing their anger at the Obama Administration.
Kurt Gronick of Ellensburg, Washington held a bible in his hand as he quoted a line from an old movie.
Kurt Gronick: "I'm madder….excuse me Lord….madder than hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."
Gronick was one of a few hundred attendees from Washington and Oregon who listed a litany of grievances against the government.
Most, like event organizer Jerry Smith, were upset about what they saw as a general disregard for the US Constitution.
Jerry Smith: "Well I think we all agree that our Government is broken but we as the voters serve as the maintenance crew. We fix the problem by voting."
Organizers of the Gorge Tea Party say they'd like to hold more events leading up to this November's elections.
