Tax Package Hit With Unexpected Setback
Democrats in the Oregon Senate are scrambling to get a tax package back on track after an unexpected setback Wednesday.
Beaverton Senator Mark Hass broke with his fellow Democrats and voted against proposals for raising taxes on corporations and high-income earners.
That vote was enough to stop the measures because they need a three-fifths majority to pass, and no Republicans voted for them.
