Tax Measure Ballots Due Tuesday
Ballots are due Tuesday for Oregon's special election. Ryan Knutson reports that at this point, it's best to hand it in, rather than mail it.
Technically, if you haven’t yet voted on Measures 66 and 67, you can still put your ballot in the mail Monday.
But there’s no guarantee it will actually arrive at an elections office before tomorrow’s 8 p.m. deadline.
Don Hamilton of the state Elections Division says your best bet is to deliver it to a county drop box.
Don Hamilton: “It’s really too late at this point to mail in your ballot. If voters want to have their votes count, and yes all voters do, they need to make sure their ballots are in the hands of the election workers no later than 8 o’clock Tuesday night.”
You can find drop box locations on your county’s website. Common locations include libraries, post offices and county courthouses.
