A key component of Oregon's war on meth was a law passed four years ago that made pseudoephedrine a prescription drug.

That was the recommendation of the Oregon Meth Task Force, put together by the Governor to advise lawmakers on how to deal with the Meth problem.

Greg Macpherson was one of those lawmakers.  He was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives between 2003 and earlier this year, and he also sat on the House Judiciary Committee.

He says the Meth Task Force was necessary to get the pseudoephedrine law passed.
