Symphony Musicians Voting On New Contract

Musicians with the Oregon Symphony are voting this week on a new contract – one with major concessions, including pay cuts.

The symphony asked the 76 members of the orchestra to amend their contracts half way through their two-year duration -- because of the faltering economy.

A tentative agreement has been reached, but both sides now have to formally vote on it.

The parties have agreed to a press black-out during the process.

The symphony season is scheduled to open October 3rd.
