The University of Oregon and the Pac-10 athletics conference announced Monday that running back LaGarrette Blount has been reinstated.

Blount was suspended from playing in Ducks’ games after he punched a Boise State player in a September matchup.

Ethan Lindsey reports.

The team says Blount will be eligible to play Saturday when the Arizona State Sun Devils visit Autzen Stadium, in Eugene.

He’s missed eight games so far.

Blount was suspended starting on September 4th – and was originally supposed to be out for the full season.

But head coach Chip Kelly says Blount has met a series of conditions necessary to be reinstated.

Kelly recommended the action on Sunday – and his request was forwarded on to the president of the University, and the commissioner of the Pac-10.

Blount was never kicked off the team – in fact, he’s been practicing with the Ducks for the entire year.
