State Police Investigating Six Illegally Killed Deer In Eastern Oregon
Oregon State Police are investigating the illegal killing of six deer in Morrow County.
Police aren't saying how the deer were killed, but they say it appears the crime took place during evening hours on private property.
Lieutenant Randy Scorby is with the state police fish and wildlife division.
Lt. Randy Scorby: “These deer were killed, we believe sometime between August 20th and September 3rd all within about five miles of the city limits of Heppner.”
A reward of $1000 is being offered in the case.
Meanwhile, state police continue their investigation into a similar crime near Roseburg where seven trophy bull elk were illegally shot and left to rot in July.
The reward in that case is the largest big-game poaching reward ever offered in Oregon -- more than $17,000.
