Students of the new Northwest Institute for Social Change are presenting the culmination of their summer internships tonight in Northwest Portland. The 13 students from all over the country studied politics and media and produced short documentaries and audio podcasts highlighting social issues from immigration to the Iraq war.

Founder Phil Busse left his job as editor of the Portland Mercury two years ago. He says it was his concern for journalism resulted in the Northwest Institute for Social Change.  Busse spoke with Allison Frost earlier about the student projects being presented publicly Wednesday night at 6:30, at NW 6th and Flanders.
