Snow Towing Not A Good Idea
The snow has closed many streets around the region. That has allowed for downhill sledding. But some of that fun in the snow has turned dangerous.
In Kennewick, Washington, for example, police have charged a man with reckless endangerment.
On Sunday, he was driving his four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle on a residential street, towing two boys on an inner tube.
Kennewick police spokesman Ken Lattin says the vehicle was going too fast. One of the boys flew off the tube and hit a parked car.
Ken Lattin: “Unfortunately we see a lot of instances where people think the streets are a playground. And they’re not the appropriate place to be sledding. They’re not appropriate to be riding your A-T-V or your snowmobile or any sort of recreational vehicle on the streets just because there’s snow.”
The 13-year-old boy wasn’t seriously hurt. He was taken to a local hospital, treated and released.
