Sizemore Tax Forms Raise More Questions
Anti-tax activist Bill Sizemore appears to have lied on tax forms he was required to fill out to get out of jail this week. Rob Manning reports.
Sizemore’s tax forms appear to conflict with Judge Janice Wilson’s ruling on the conduct of his non-profit.
Perhaps the most obvious problem is that Sizemore answered on both state and federal forms that his American Tax Research Foundation was not engaged in political activity.
He made that claim for both 2006 and 2007 when he was spearheading efforts to put initiatives on the 2008 ballot.
Sizemore also listed his mother as one of the board members on his federal form - and then checked a box indicating that board members were not related.
In a statement to the Oregonian newspaper, Sizemore said he would correct that mistake.
State justice officials are looking into pursuing further civil sanctions against Sizemore. Criminal prosecution is also a possibility.
