Seaside Dance Team Qualifies For State Championships
The Seaside High School Dance Team competed in its first dance and drill competition of the season Saturday. The team traveled to West Linn High School to compete against a total of six teams in the 4A Division.
The team placed fourth and exceeded the state qualifying score.
"The team members have a lot of work ahead of them and are very excited to qualify to compete at the Dance & Drill State Championships," said coach Nancy Taylor.
The state championships are held March 14 and 15 at the Portland Memorial Coliseum.
The Seaside Dance Team has two halftime performances and another competition Saturday at Molalla High School.
"The team will be making improvements and adjustments based on the judges comments from this weekend's competition,"
"Our goal was to qualify at West Linn and we did, "Taylor said. "Our goal is to improve our scores and bring home a trophy this weekend to add to our growing collection."
