The dialers make automatic phone calls to parents when their child is absent from school.
Horman has been missing from Skyline Elementary since Friday morning.
The 7-year-old said goodbye to his stepmother outside his classroom. But she wasn't aware until 3:45 that afternoon that he never made it to class.
Portland Public School spokesman, Matt Shelby, says up to now only schools that have attendance issues use the dialers.
Matt Shelby: "All of our high schools, all of our middle schools are using it. It's a matter of getting about 20 elementary schools on line. We have the technology to do it and we're going to, now moving forward."
Police don't know if Kyron Horman walked away from school or was abducted. They're asking anyone with information to call.
Twenty-two law enforcement agencies are engaged in this fourth day of searching.
