Salem Estimates Flood Damage At $10.3 Million
Officials in the Willamette Valley are beginning to release damage estimates from last week’s floods.
Salem officials say their city suffered at least 10.3 million dollars to public infrastructure. Eight million of that was to bridges. The city's operational costs – from dealing with the floods – have been pegged at 275,000 dollars.
Those are initial cost estimates and city officials say they are likely to grow. And they don't include flood damage to other parts of Marion County, such as the city of Turner.
