Rural Communitites HIt Hard By Recession
The recession has hit some parts of Oregon and southwest Washington harder than others. Rural areas are especially vulnerable in this economy.
While economists are talking about a turnaround, it’ll be a while before people who are struggling – and the organizations that serve them – will see better days.
Robert More is the Director of Housing and Emergency Services for Oregon Coast Community Action in Coos Bay.
He says his organization is seeing what he calls a “tidal wave of need.”
