Rev. Jackson Expected to Talk About Police Shooting in Portland
The Reverend Jesse Jackson is expected in Portland this evening to talk about the police shooting of Aaron Campbell. He was killed last month after police reponded to an emergency call. But when Campbell was shot he was unarmed.
At a previously scheduled appearance in Eugene, Jackson said he wants the federal government to step into the case. Jesse Jackson: "We're going to ask the Department of Justice to interviene, we're going to ask for the house judicuariy committee to get involved. And this matter should not be black and white, it should be wrong and right." The Portland Police released all its detectives' reports on the case today. A grand jury did not indict the officer involved, but wrote a letter saying they had serious concerns about what happened.
