Redmond City Manager Resigns After Arrest
Redmond's city manager has formally left his job, following his arrest last month.
Law enforcement responded to a call at Michael Patterson's home, resulting in an assault charge.
He's now officially resigned his position.
Redmond's Asisstant City Manager Sharon Harris says there will not be a search to replace Patterson right away.
Sharon Harris: "We have a new council coming on in January. The current council is passing the process decisions to the new council in January, I'm sure it'll probably be one of the first things they tackle."
The Deschutes County Sheriff's Department investigated the case, since as City Manager, Patterson oversaw the Redmond police.
A grand jury will decide whether Patterson should face felony charges for domestic violence.
If he's charged, he'll be back in court later this month.
His contract with the city dictates that he be paid $134,000 in severance.
