Q&A: Oregon's Proposed Budget Cuts
The state proposed specific budget reductions today intended to meet a $577 million shortfall in the current biennial budget.
K-12 education, services to the elderly and state prisons are among the areas to be slashed. But the losses would be spread around, since the governor ordered "across-the-board" reductions of nine percent.
