Why Is China Important To Oregon?
This week, 12 editors from across the U.S. are in China, as part of the International Reporting Project, based at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.

Every year, these so-called "Gatekeepers" go to various locations around the world for two weeks.
This trip is the program's first ever one to China, and it's focusing on the environmental, economic and health challenges facing this increasingly important country.
Christy George is one of them. She's OPB's Senior Producer, and she joins me on the line from Beijing.
