Q&A: Making Sticky-Notes Sustainable
A professor at Oregon State University says he can use soybean oil to make a pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Think sticky-notes, certain kinds of tape, and labels and postage stamps -- things that stick when pressure's applied.
Right now, petro-chemicals are the basis for the sticky substance. But Kaichang Li says he's found a non-toxic, sustainable and cheap substitute for that.
Kaichang Li is a professor at Oregon State University. In 2007, Professor Li received the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award from the Environmental Protection Agency.
