Regardless of what happens with the federal funding, the new school year will be here before you know it, and school districts around the state are making their plans.

We wanted to get a sense of what it's like to do that in the current funding and political environment.

We have on the line David Wilkinson. He's the president of the Beaverton Education Association, which represents about 3,000 teachers in the Beaverton School district.
