Q&A: Capturing Wolves (On Film) In Wallowa County
In Eastern Oregon, wildlife officials and ranchers alike are working on a way to manage wolves. They're wrestling with the tensions between lifestock owners and laws that protect wolves.
Recently, the monitoring device on the collar worn by the Imnaha Pack's alpha male stopped transmitting, leading to speculation that the male wolf was dead. But it turns out, it was just the collar that died. The alpha male is alive.
OPB's Oregon Field Guide is working on a wolf story for the upcoming season on TV, and producer Ed Jahn is with me. He's just back from Wallowa County.
