Commissioner Dan Saltzman says a Portland Police Sergeant will be moved to an administrative job, after what's been described as a "road-rage" incident.Sgt. Kyle Nice was off duty Saturday April 3rd, when he allegedly yelled at another driver and took out his gun during the confrontation.

Commissioner Dan Saltzman says Nice is on family leave, but will be transferred to a job in emergency services when he returns. Kyle Nice's name has become familiar to Portlanders because of his involvement in the death of James Chasse several years ago.

But Saltzman says the decision he and Chief Rosie Sizer made was based solely on this incident: "Officers - we hold them to a higher standard, on or off duty.‚"

The Portland Police Patrolman's Association usually advocates for officers facing discipline. But the union's own president, Scott Westerman, is now under investigation to see if he behaved inappropriately during two reported run-ins with a driver earlier this year.Westerman had no comment on Sgt Nice's case. He refrained from talking about his own situation, other than to say he was embarrassed and ashamed of his behavior.
