A group of Portland clergy members are calling for more information on the shooting of a young man last week. April Baer reports.

Relations between the Albina Ministerial Alliance and city leaders have taken a bumpy turn.

The group is comprised of ministers from some of Portland's most influential black churches.

They're unhappy at being cut out of Mayor Sam Adams decision to switch police chiefs. AMA wants more detail on what passed between police and 25-year-old Keaton Otis, who was killed in a shoot-out last week.

They're also still waiting for a full report on the death of Aaron Campbell in January.

Reverend LeRoy Haynes says the Alliance may undertake its own investigation of Otis' death.

LeRoy Haynes: "It is alleged that he shot at a police officer. Just like it was allegedly stated for two days in the press that Aaron Campbell had a weapon. But when the investigation was out, we quickly discovered that Aaron Campbell was unarmed."

A Portland Police spokeswoman noted that a grand jury's report on Campbell's death has been made public. Additional police reviews, she says, just take time.

The AMA has invited the public to a community forum on police accountability Thursday night. More info:http://www.firstunitarianportland.org/ (see the PDF in the bottom half of the screen.)
