Two plaintiffs have expanded their claims against three Lane County leaders. The suit alleges that the commissioners violated public meeting laws.

Tuesday’s filing re-states earlier claims that Commissioners Pete Sorenson, Bill Fleenor, and Rob Handy got together several times between April and June 2009.

This time, plaintiffs list several alleged meeting locations - from county offices, to a restaurant in Eugene, even a motor home owned by one of the commissioners.

The plaintiffs say those sessions concerned key budget details -  held out of sight of colleagues and the public.

Attorney Nathan Rietmann explained what his clients want. “What they’re seeking is primarily an injunction that would prohibit the Commissioners named in the suit from committing future violations," he said.

It’s not clear where plaintiffs got their information about meeting locations. Rietmann isn’t saying.

Commissioner Bill Fleenor says in a written statement the complaint has no merit, and is politically motivated.

A Coos County Judge is handling the case, to avoid any appearance of conflict for Lane County’s judges.
