OSU Bookstore Launches Online Textbook Marketplace
If you have a student in college -- or you are one yourself -- you probably know this already. The costs of textbooks is making college even less affordable.
A new report by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity shows that most of the growing costs of higher education over the past decade are due to increases in non-tuition fees, including textbooks.
A number of colleges and universities across the country are experimenting with new ways to lower the cost of textbooks and Oregon State University is trying something online.
The OSU Beaver Store has developed an online marketplace where students can find prices for textbooks at the store and from other outlets.
Steve Eckrich is the CEO of the Beaver Store, and he joins us from the OSU Media Center in Corvallis.
