The federal agency that tracks campaign finance has posted a quarterly report that hints at a busy Oregon election season next year. April Baer reports.

This is a time in the election cycle when candidates are in the money-raising mode, rather than money-spending.

That's certainly true for Oregon's Democratic representatives.

Peter Defazio raised $94,000 between July 1st and the end of September, bringing his war chest to over $582,000.

Congressmen David Wu, Kurt Schrader, and Earl Blumenauer all have over $400,000 cash on hand.

But the most prolific fundraising was done by Republican Congressman Greg Walden.

He already had over $370,000 in the bank at the start of the quarter. His cash on hand has surged to almost $630,000.

Walden was recently named vice chairman of the committee that helps Republican reps get elected, and may be able to assist GOP members in key races by sending donations from his own re-election fund.
