This week's Oregon Political Chat with Geoff Norcross, Bill Lunch and Jeff Mapes - Listen Now

For the second straight week, health care dominated the NW political debate.  In the wake of the health care overhaul bill that passed Congress Sunday, Washington's Attorney General Rob McKenna said he would join a multi-state lawsuit against the measure. That move has infuriated the majority Democrats in Olympia, who aren't in a good mood to begin with since they have trapped themselves in a special session that seems to have no end in sight.

Health care wasn't the only thing NW politicians were sparring over this week.  NOAA has again shown love for Newport, Oregon, over the objections of Washington.  Bellingham was also in the running to host the agency's  Pacific Fleet.  Does this decision mean the issue is finally settled? And finally, a federal judge has upheld a sweeping overhaul of Oregon's initiative process.  What does this mean for the future of ballot measures? What are your thoughts on these issues.  We’d love to hear form you. Leave your thoughts in the comments section.  And remember, tune in Friday mornings at 8:51 during Morning Edition for OPB’s weekly political chat with Geoff Norcross, Bill Lunch and Jeff Mapes.
