Oregon Guard Soldiers Involved In Iraq Accident
Some Oregon Guard soldiers were involved in a motor vehicle accident in Iraq. Various reports put the site of the crash of Baghdad.
Wire services say five Iraqis travelling in a van were killed.
Captain Steven Bomar of the Oregon Military Department says an investigation is underway.
Steven Bomar “There were three inuries for 41st brigade soldiers. They were minor injuries and those individuals have been returned to duty.”
Bomar says it appears no attack caused the accident.
Reports differ about how it happened. Some witnesses told news services the Americans were in a convoy driving on the wrong side of the road.
