One Passenger In Critical Condition After Tour Bus Fire
Seven of the eight people taken to hospital Sunday after a bus fire on Route 101, have been released.
The driver of a RAZ bus traveling from Cannon Beach to Portland noticed smoke and flames coming out of his dash board at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
He pulled onto the shoulder, stopped and opened the door.
Oregon State Police Sergeant Greg Plummer say flames quickly spread inside the bus forcing the 33 passengers to flee out an emergency exit.
Greg Plummer: "It's believed to be an electrical fire. Believed to be something to do with the instrument panel near the dash of the vehicle."
One of the passengers, 71-year-old Rosemary Dionne of Wisconsin, is still listed in critical condition at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. She was Lifeflighted to the burn unit.
Bus seating, the roof and windows were consumed by the fire.
