ODOT Extends Studded Tire Season
The Oregon Department of Transportation is giving drivers an extra ten days to remove studded snow tires. The new deadline is April 11th.
ODOT spokesman Brad Wurfel says winter weather in springtime is to blame.
"We've had some fairly serious weather moving into the area. And it's predicted that the ferocity of these storms, as well as the duration of these storms, is going to cause some serious weather conditions, and possibly some very difficult road conditions. Especially up in the mountains."
Wurfel says ODOT is encouraging everyone to be careful when driving in the mountains.
