Obama Picks Up Two More Oregon Superdelegates
Two more Oregon superdelegates have come out in support of Barack Obama.
Oregon Democratic Party officials Wayne Kinney and Meredith Wood Smith both made their announcements Wednesday.
Wood Smith says Obama is the best Democrat to face John McCain in the November election.
Meredith Wood Smith: “He demonstrates that leadership that I feel that we need to get us out of Iraq and to provide health care and restore our economy.”
Wood Smith says Obama’s wide margin of victory over Hillary Clinton in last week’s Oregon primary helped influence her decision.
Obama now has the support of six Oregon superdelegates. Clinton has two Oregon superdelegates.
Four have not pledged their support to either candidate.
