Gov. Sarah Palin Steps Down
July 4, 2009 12:36 p.m.
Yesterday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced she'd be resigning on July 26th. NPR's Martin Kaste reports.
Sarah Palin says she's quitting her job as governor of Alaska at the end of July — a year and a half early. The decision follows a bruising 10 months in the national spotlight, first as John McCain's running mate, then as a possible contender for the Republican nomination in 2012. But it's not at all clear what Palin's decision to step down means for her political future. Copyright 2009 National Public Radio. To see more, visit http://www.npr.org/.
