Mill City City Hall Now A Crime Scene
Authorities say Monday night’s fire at the city hall in Mill City is likely arson.
The Linn County sheriffs’ office is leading the investigation. The suspicion of arson led authorities to make the site a crime scene.
Authorities have released the original 9-1-1 call of the incident.
9-1-1 call:
Operator: “9-1-1, what is your emergency?”
Caller: “The city hall in Mill City just blew up.”
O: “What blew up?”
C: “The city hall in Mill City!”
O: “Was this an explosion?”
C: “Yes! Oh my God! Calm down, calm down.”
O: “Are people injured?”
C: “I don’t know. My kids are scared to death.”
The fire injured one city worker who’s now recovering at Legacy Emanuel hospital in Portland.
Mill City officials say records should have been in fireproof containers. But they’re not sure of their condition.
