Micron Plans Service For CEO Killed In Crash
Micron Technologies Inc. has scheduled a public memorial service for its former CEO and Chairman Steve Appleton, who was killed last week in a plane crash in Boise.
The memorial service is scheduled Feb. 23 at Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State University campus.
Micron has also established memorial funds in Appleton's name with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Boise State University Foundation. The memory chip maker has already kicked in $25,000 to each foundation.
Appleton died Friday when his experimental plane crashed moments after taking off at the Boise Airport. He was the only person on board and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Appleton was appointed chairman, chief executive officer and president of Micron in 1994, though he dropped the president title in 2007.
