The forecast that tells you about sunny skies...or...rain coming soon, may not leave you prepared with the latest on macro-level changes in the earth's climate.
Thursday, OPB is broadcasting a TV show that examines what the public is hearing about climate & weather, and how frontline players like TV weathermen are reacting to the latest conclusions about climate change.
Stephen Schneider is a Climatologist at Stanford University, and part of the team that shared this year's Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore, for bring attention to climate change issues.
We called him up to talk about the difference in training between the meteorologists who keep us up to date on the forecast and the climatologists looking at the big picture.
