Oregon voters are flocking to ballot drop-off sites today in advance of tonight’s 8 o’clock deadline.

More than half of all registered voters already voted before today.  Traffic was heavy around some ballot drop sites in Portland.

In Salem, a steady stream of people dropped off ballots in front of the Marion County courthouse.

That included Dan Ryan of Salem, who said he cast an enthusiastic vote for Barack Obama.

Dan Ryan :  “To be honest with you I haven’t voted a couple of times in the past and this year I was really very interested in who gets into office, so I feel good.”

Besides the Presidential election, Oregon voters are weighing in on a Senate race, Congressional and legislative seats, and a dozen ballot measures.

Washington voters are deciding what’s expected to be a very close election for Governor.  They’re also voting on an Oregon-style assisted suicide law.
