Jurors in the faith-healing trial of Brent and Raylene Worthington have deliberated for four full days now. Rob Manning reports.

Clackamas County Judge Steven Maurer sent the jury home after jurors failed to agree on a verdict after more than 20 hours of deliberation.

Monday afternoon jurors told the judge they were deadlocked.

Judge Maurer was unconvinced. He sent them home early Monday and then they spent all day Tuesday in the courthouse in Oregon City without reaching a verdict.

It would take 10 out of 12 jurors to convict either Brent or Raylene Worthington.

The Worthingtons face  second degree manslaughter and criminal mistreatment charges in connection with the death of their 15-month-old daughter Ava.

She died a year ago March of complications from pneumonia and a blood infection. The parents treated her with prayer rather than with medicine.
