Mike Prigodich calls himself an unknown, but Tuesday night he takes the stage at Portland jazz club Jimmy Mak’s.  He’s playing alongside some of the city’s best jazz musicians, and they’re playing his compositions. 

He launched his recent musical career for an unlikely reason:  a cancer diagnosis.
