China is the biggest polluter in the world, when it comes to carbon dioxide emissions.  But the United States is number two.

So our two countries share a similar burden if there is to be a concerted, worldwide effort to curb CO2.

China’s environmental policy is one thing OPB Senior Producer Christy George is getting a crash course in this week and next.

She’s visiting China with a group of editors, as part of the International Reporting Project at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies.

Christy joins us on the line from Beijing.
