Grand Ronde Chairwoman Attends White House Tribal Conference
The Obama administration will spend the day meeting with American Indian leaders. Thursday is the White House Tribal Nations Conference.
Leaders from all 564 federally-recognized tribes have been invited, and it’s the first conference of its kind.
Cheryle Kennedy is the chairwoman of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and she is attending the conference. She says President Obama’s relationship with Native Americans is a definite change from previous administrations.
